If a divorce case goes to trial, the experts brought by each party may have different – if not diametrically opposing – views. How does this happen?
Distinguished Chicago family law attorney Joy Feinberg is a family lawyer who means business. A fierce and focused advocate for individuals of wealth who are contemplating or are in the midst of a divorce, Joy is known by her clients and peers as a tenacious, direct, and trustworthy attorney and advocate, both in and out of the courtroom.
For over three decades, Joy has honed her knowledge and professional skill-sets to deeply understand tax-driven financial solutions and creative parenting plans – among the many other complicating aspects of divorces for wealthy individuals. If settlement attempts fail, Joy relies on her trial prowess: a signature of her professional acumen.
Joy recognizes the struggle individuals can experience prior to beginning the divorce process. She provides a holistic approach to intimately understand her clients’ unique circumstances and guides them through the process with inspired and creative solutions. This approach provides results through effective negotiations in mediation or collaboration – or at trial if all settlement efforts fail.
Joy forms a close bond with her clients to understand and empower them – and to develop a winning strategy to achieve their goals on the other side of divorce.
A sought-after speaker and writer, Joy draws on her depth and breadth of knowledge on topics such as taxation, business valuation, pensions, spousal maintenance, and co-parenting after divorce to help her audience understand these complex topics.
Joy has lent her professional expertise to mediate and consult for highly reputable organizations and institutions on the many aspects of domestic relations throughout her career.
Joy began her career in 1977 as a litigator with a concentration on personal injury and domestic relations cases. In 1980, she formed a private practice exclusively focused on family law.
Joy Feinberg served as President of the USA Chapter of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAML) from 2014- 2016. She is most proud of her Presidency of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) Foundation, an organization that supports the needs of adults and children who are experiencing divorce or separation.
