Marshall W. Waller is certified as a Family Law Specialist through the Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California. A Certified Family Law Specialist must pass an extensive written examination in the subject area, be approved by a peer review process and show proficiency in this area by demonstrating experience handling a sufficient number of family law cases with varying degrees of complexity. Marshall Waller taught family law as a professor of law for over fifteen years and has written a University-level textbook in the area of California Family Law, published by Aspen Publishing; it is currently in its fourth edition. He has also written a book designed for use by professionals and laypersons alike titled Essentials of California Family Law.
Marshall W. Waller graduated with Highest Honors from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly) with a B.A. in Political Science. While at Cal Poly, he was selected for membership in the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi, the oldest and largest collegiate honor society dedicated to the recognition and promotion of academic excellence in all fields of higher education.
Marshall Waller earned his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles, California. While at Loyola Law School, he received academic recognition for his placement in the class standing and was also the recipient of the American Jurisprudence award for excellence in Corporations. After graduating from Loyola Law School, he continued his education in the field of Taxation at the University of San Diego.
Marshall Waller serves as a volunteer mediator for the Los Angeles County Superior Court’s Family Law division and has volunteered as a Judge Pro Tempore. He has worked with the Legislative Committee of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association and is an active member of that Association as well as the Los Angeles County and Beverly Hills Bar Associations. In addition to his busy law practice and teaching schedule, Mr. Waller is actively involved in his community and participates in numerous other volunteer organizations including serving as a Boy Scout Assistant Scout Master. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Lodge Youth Services, a residential placement, and rehabilitation facility for juvenile criminal offenders. He is also a past president of the Cellar Club, a prominent Beverly Hills based social club originally formed in the 1960’s.
Mary Ellen Waller, Partner
Mary Ellen Waller has been a managing partner of the law firm Feinberg & Waller, APC since 2001. Ms. Waller manages and implements the law firm’s procedures and policies. She has helped lead the firm from a general litigation practice to become one of Southern California’s premier family law firms serving clients in complex family law litigation. Ms. Waller is admitted to practice law in both the state of New York (since 1985) and the state of California (since 1990). Her undergraduate degree is in Communications, with a specialty in Journalism, from Hofstra University. Ms. Waller received her law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, at Yeshiva University in Manhattan, New York. She has extensive business management and litigation experience in both the state of New York and California. She has also planned, designed, overseen, and implemented large-scale remodels and construction of several commercial and residential real estate properties, including the current offices of Feinberg & Waller. This has given her a unique perspective and experience in areas of law related to property construction, division of assets and the special circumstances facing many divorcing spouses at the conclusion of their divorce.
Ms. Waller serves on the Pierce College advisory panel for the Computer Applications and Office Technologies Department. She assists the Pierce College committee in developing curriculum for future office professionals in the contemporary workplace, advising on office procedures, software, equipment, and technological advances.
Ms. Waller is an elected member of the Cowboy Lawyers Association, an organization of judges and lawyers who ride horses and share a love of the old west. She is an active volunteer in her local neighborhood community and parish. Mary Ellen has received several community service awards, including the Star award, in recognition of outstanding community service from her local community. She is also an elected member of the National Charity League, Inc, a non-profit national organization committed to fostering mother-daughter relationships through community service, leadership development, and cultural experience.
Sandra Salinas – Attorney
Sandra Salinas was admitted to practice before all the courts in the State of California and the United States Federal Court in 1992. She has extensive legal experience as a civil litigator and family law attorney. She is a recipient of the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono legal services from the State Bar of California. Ms. Salinas received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1988 in Economics from Chapman University and earned her law degree in 1991 from Western State University where she was the Honors Moot Court Executive Director.
