Sandra Bullock relishes her roles as wife and stepmother.

Most of us don't tend to picture Hollywood movie stars in a more domestic environment -- especially with the news littered with headlines about celebrity divorces and breakups. But actor Sandra Bullock, best known for the Speed and Miss Congeniality films, recently revealed in an interview that she loves her current family life.

"My greatest joy is making our home what it's supposed to be," Bullock told InStyle magazine in a profile for their March 2009 issue. "Being a good wife, a good stepmom, [and] a good current wife to the ex-wife. We're a family.

"Thankfully, I married someone who loves me just the way I am, and all the nuttiness that goes into me," she added.

Bullock, 44, married TV host and motorcycle builder Jesse James in July 2005. The couple met the previous year when Bullock arranged for her then ten-year-old godson to meet James, who hosted Discovery's Monster Garage. James has two daughters and a son from previous marriages: 14-year-old Chandler, 11-year-old Jesse Jr., and five-year-old Sunny.

The couple won temporary full-time custody of Sunny last month, after James' ex-wife, adult-movie star and former Penthouse model Janine Lindemulder, was sentenced to six months in prison for income-tax evasion.

"I have family in spades," Bullock said to InStyle. "Everything we do is about the kids. I haven't had children biologically. I had that shut off; then I met Jesse, and it turned on again. I was like, 'Oh, that's that feeling.'"

She added, however, that she and James have no immediate plans to have more children. "We realized that we had to take care of some other things on this planet first. I hope to God when we get to a place where all is safe, calm, happy, and healthy, it's not too late."

But Bullock won't be overly heartbroken if that time never comes. "If I waited too long, it's because we were supposed to do other things. If it is just too late? There are millions of children on this planet that I would be honored to call my own."

Sandra Bullock began her acting career in the 1980s and became a star in the mid-'90s in such films as Speed and While You Were Sleeping. She received critical acclaim for her role in the Oscar-winning 2005 movie Crash. Before meeting James, she had been romantically linked to fellow actors Ryan Gosling and Matthew McConaughey and football star Troy Aikman.

Jesse James, 39, began his career as a bodyguard for several U.S. rock bands. He opened his first motorcycle shop in 1992 and, after starring in the TV documentary Motorcycle Mania, hosted Monster Garage from 2002 to 2006.
