Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood may have to pay huge divorce settlement over affair.

by Jeffrey Cottrill

You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you just might find you can get a big chunk of Ron Wood's fortune.

Less than a week after the Rolling Stones veteran was photographed at a posh London restaurant with his mistress, 20-year-old Ekaterina Ivanova, his estranged wife reportedly sought advice from divorce lawyers over the affair. According to Britain's News of the World, Jo Wood could win a settlement as high as £50 million, or roughly the equivalent of $92.5 million U.S.

Wood's estate has an estimated worth of $129.5 million. Jo Wood would be entitled to half of that fortune, and she could even win another 20% of his earnings because of her time as his employee. Wood may well be about to have his own 19th Nervous Breakdown.

"She feels humiliated, spurned, and furious that her best friend has treated her like that," a close friend of Jo Wood (nee Howard), a former model, told News of the World regarding the affair. "She has spoken with her legal team, and they've made it clear she is in a terrifically strong position."

But she also wants to keep things as amicable as possible, despite the affair; she told the Daily Mail herself: "We've been through too much together not to stay friends, whatever happens next. And despite everything, I still really care for Ronnie."

The trouble started in June, when Wood was exposed as having an affair with Ivanova, a Russian, whom he'd supposedly met in a London club. Wood then checked into a rehab clinic on July 16 to deal with his alcoholism. He has continued the affair by living with Ivanova in the past several weeks, according to the World Entertainment News Network.

The Woods married in 1985 and have two children together; Wood also has an adult son from his first wife, Krissy Findley, who passed away in 2005. Jo Wood, 53, has worked as her husband's executive assistant, his personal management assistant, the joint director of Rockyarch (his music company), and the company secretary for his painting company, Scream Art. She also owns a successful line of organic beauty products.

Ron Wood, 61, joined the Rolling Stones in 1976, replacing Mick Taylor after recording and touring with the band the previous year. Wood had previously played with the Jeff Beck Group and Small Faces. He has also recorded several solo albums.
