As reported last month here on Divorce Magazine, Realty TV star (if there really is such a thing) Heidi Montag has inched closer to divorcing former The Hills cast member Spencer Pratt. It now seems only a matter of time before a judge declares both spouses free again to foolishly marry someone else.

Observers who enjoy slowing down their lives to watch celebrity marriages (even B-list folks like this pair) crash and burn may, however, not have their desires fulfilled as the couple -- for now -- are dealing with things like grown-ups; at least according to Montag's lawyer, who told People.com that ""The couple has agreed they would like their divorce to be finalized in a timely manner in an out of court settlement. Both parties are amicable with each other and over the possibility of finalizing their divorce."

Still, there are cynical (or is that realistic?) Hollywood insiders who believe that this is nothing but a publicity stunt hatched by the pair to reclaim the spotlight. If that's the case, it's not clear whether disgust, anger or pity would be the right response. 

Perhaps an aspiring screenwriter will provide the answers in a made-for-TV-movie or, better yet, an in-flight epic that audiences cannot turn off or flee.
