December 21, 2011: International Man of Mystery

Liz Hurley's husband may serve court papers on cricketer.

by Jeffrey Cottrill

In the wake of the news of British actor-model Liz Hurley's separation from Arun Nayar, the latter has reportedly now set his fury upon Australian cricket superstar Shane Warne. Numerous news sources have reported Hurley, 45, to be having an affair with Warne, and her husband, an Indian textile heir, wants to serve papers on the 41-year-old athlete.

Hurley, best known for her role in the first two Austin Powers movies as well as for her work as a spokesmodel for Estée Lauder, announced her separation from Nayar on her Twitter account on December 12. "For the record, my husband Arun & I separated a few months ago," she Tweeted, adding: "Our close family & friends were aware of this."

According to U.K. tabloid The Mirror, Nayar's divorce lawyers have advised him that he can subpoena Warne to court if he chooses to sue Hurley for divorce on the grounds of "inappropriate behavior".

And Warne has confirmed his own separation, from wife Simone Callahan. "Sadly and unfortunately," he told reporters in Melbourne last week after visiting Hurley in London, "Simone and I split up a while ago. It is a private matter. We remain friends and will continue to be good parents."

"Arun is very angry and cannot believe he has been so humiliated," an anonymous relative of Nayar told the Mirror last week. "He is an honorable and very proud man and wants to know what really went on. He loved Liz with all his heart, but the marriage broke down beyond their control. Now he believes there was more to the split and demands to know when the affair began."

Hurley was seen in public with her wedding ring as recently as December 4, but was spotted with Warne in London shortly after that.

Hurley and Nayar began dating in 2002 and married in March 2007. She famously had a relationship with actor Hugh Grant from 1987 to 2000. Hurley also has an eight-year-old son, Damian Charles, from a brief relationship with U.S. movie producer Steve Bing.

Elizabeth Hurley voices a character in the upcoming animated film The Wild Bunch.
