| January 20, 2012: Kenny G, Smooth Musician Having Rocky Divorce By Ron Garantn
Kenny G's wife of 20 years, Lyndie, has filed for legal separation due to "irreconcilable differences"." They remain married for the time being, but it seems litigation will definitely play a role since both parties have hired high-profile lawyers (Laura Wasser for Kenny, who has repped Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie and Kim Kardashian among others, and Gary Fishbein for Lyndie), and since the existence of a prenup is not known, the door is open for a possible split of his estimated $50 million in assets. Kenny, 55, the musician many jazz aficionados love to hate, and Lyndie have two sons, Max and Noah, who at 14 is the only minor and for whom Lyndie has filed for sole custody. Kenny rose to fame in 1986 with his 4th album, Duotones, and has sold an estimated 75 million albums worldwide. He holds a pilot's license and being from Seattle, was an early investor in the Starbucks chain. On an artistic note, Kenny recently had a different kind of divorce -- from his record label of 25 years, Arista Records and music mogul Clive Davis. His new CD, Rhythm & Romance, has been released on Concord/Starbucks Entertainment, his first record of original music since 2002. Arista had been pressuring Kenny for more covers of standard songs, which made him feel "handcuffed," even though his success in the past has always been with his originals. The divorce is described as "amicable." Find local divorce information, click here: http://www.divorcemag.com/findprofessional.php |
