March 9, 2007: Heather Mills join Dancing with the Stars

ABC-TV has announced that Heather Mills, the estranged wife of Sir Paul McCartney, has joined the hit U.S. television show Dancing with the Stars.

Cynics may say that Mills is cashing in on the wave of publicity churned up by her bitter divorce proceedings from the former Beatle. But what she's doing takes courage. The 39-year-old former model and activist lost her left leg below the knee in a traffic accident. She will be the first contestant on the show to compete with an artificial limb.  She's also clearly looking to get on with her life, which is also commendable.
