Cougar Town star Courtney Cox, better known to non-cougar types as Monica from the mega-hit show Friends, has announced that she and actor-husband David Arquette (better known for...being married to Courtney Cox) are splitting up. At least temporarily. 

The oft-photographed couple have agreed to a trial separation, after attempts to work out their issues through marriage therapy didn't pan out. They have one daughter, Coco, 6.

It's unclear whether the couple is aiming towards reconciliation or divorce court. A statement released by the pair claimed that they're "best friends" and "love each other deeply," and are using this opportunity to "understand themselves and their relationship." 

Married for 11 years, Cox, 46 and Arquette, 39 met on the set of the 1996 mock horror Scream. Coincidentally, they just finished filming Scream 4 (yes, there were two more since the first one). That movie is due out next year, for better or for worse.
