Chelsea Clinton marries investment banker in New York State.

Eight months after she announced the engagement to the world, Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former U.S. president Bill Clinton, married her longtime beau, investment banker Marc Mezvinsky.

The wedding took place on Saturday at Astor Courts, a riverside estate in Rhinebeck, New York, about a 90-minute drive north of New York City. Guests at the ceremony included Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, and former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Of course, the bride's ex-president father was present to escort Clinton down the aisle, and her mother, current Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, was in attendance as well.

"Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion, as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends," Bill and Hillary Clinton said in a press statement issued after the wedding.

"We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together," the statement continued, "and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day."

Clinton, 30, wore a Vera Wang strapless gown with a silk, organza skirt at the ceremony. Wang also designed the Grecian gown that the bride wore at the reception, as well as the bridesmaids' dresses. The designer said in a Sunday press statement that it was "an honor and a privilege to dress Chelsea on her wedding day."

The bride "radiated joy, youth and happiness" at the wedding, Wang added.

Clinton and Mezvinsky, 32, were friends as teenagers during her father's presidency and attended Stanford University together. Mezvinsky works for 3G Capital Management, a hedge fund in New York City. He is the son of two former U.S. congresspeople.

Chelsea Clinton recently earned a Master's degree in public health from Columbia University.
