Hi,
I am a US citizen currently residing in Aurora IL for 4 months. Two years back I had filed for my divorce (cruelty and desertation) in Bombay India where my wife resides (Indian Citizen) and the case is contested in India and looks like it will drag for years. I have a son 13 years and he lives with me in the US.
Can I file for a divorce in IL? eventhough the case is still pending in India. Can the date of her desertation in India be used as a valid date in the US? Since she cannot travel to US, how is this case to be handled? Please advise
