Title: Bigamy and divorce in state of Georgia
i recently found out that my supposedly ex wife (who was supposed to have divorced me in 1990 in atlanta, ga) is still legally married to me. there is no record of the divorce in ga.
she is now on her third marriage and lives in south carolina.
she also received a significant inheritance about four years ago.
what am i entitled to financially, should i file for divorce and charge her with bigamy in the state of GA.
i have never remarried.
am i entitled to a portion of her inheritance and/or her earnings.
a paralegal told me i might be able to get 50% of the inheritance but i am unsure.
thanks

You have to talk to her first and ask where did you both filed the divorce? Tell her you concerns and as far as I know, she might think that she as divorced to you a long time ago. You have to talk about it with a legal adviser. Its not a joke and it will really be expensive just like with the laws in the state of Utah that outlaw polygamy are being challenged in court by the household showcased in the “Sister Wives” television show. The lawsuit holds that bigamy laws breach the family's right to religious freedom, and they want an injunction given against any possible prosecution for violating anti-bigamy and polygamy laws.
