Title: abusive father and step mother in Florida getting visitation
I was awarded full custody due to my ex husband and his wife abusing our children. He eventually got court supervised visitations after anger mgt courses etc. The step mother didn't have any consequences at ALL. He has not changed much and in fact accuses me and the kids of lying and making this all up, and the step mother has not changed at all. She's even more abusive than the father. In fact at one point I had a restraining order against her. I recently got permission to move out of state. I signed an agreement to allow my kids to go back down to FLORIDA to spend time with him after he came up here to Virginia for three weekends. It was a TERRIBLE agreement but I would have signed ANYHTING to get permission to move our children away from his “on-going” anger and that's exactly what I did. My kids are flat out refusing to go to Florida, mostly because they are scared to death of the step mother and they know he will not stop any of the abuse and they’re afraid he will start abusing them again as soon as he’s not under a watchful eye. I have reports from the therapist stating that they have good REASON to be scared of HER and that he is in fact angry.
I recently got a writ of Bodily attachment against ME in FLORIDA for not paying half of GAL fee that was ordered to be a voice for the children because of HIS abuse. I am a single parent who got permission to move out of state with the children. I have no job, no money, no child support (yes, I went to cs enforcement) and now this writ in Florida against ME and he is threatening to take my kids to Florida anyway, which he is allowed to do. I don't know what to do. They won’t go and I’m afraid I will get in trouble. And when they eventually go to FLORIDA. I’m certain they will get abused by the step mother and father and I won't be able to go down there as I will get arrested and he made that clear to me that there “won’t be ANYHTING I can do”. My kids are very scared and said they will kick, scream and bite if anyone makes them go. These are incredibly well behaved children normally but they are just scared to death of the step mother and they know dad will not stop the abuse and will leave them with her all day while he works. I am trying to stay positive for them and ONLY say positive things. I can't afford an attorney. I'm barely able to get food to feed us. This is going to destroy my children's lives all because the system in FLORIDA failed us in the first place. My Virginia Bankruptcy attorney's exact words about all of this mess was, "This is the WORSE case of injustice on a single mother I have ever seen!" Please anyone give me some advice as I can’t even get an attorney through legal aid. I already tried.
