Help! my husband and I both filed for divorce and are we are each asking for full custody. Since he filed 1 month before me I've read he will have the advantage at the temp custody hearing next week. Does anyone know if this is true for VA? Thank You for any help

I dont see how absent other factors your husband can gain full custody when he is going out to see. Make sure you have a good divorce attorney and consider a divorce strategist

His mother would love nothing more than to have my children. Actually, she is behind his custody petition. He could care less about the kids. And he will be going out to sea in Sept.

I find it interesting that he is asking for full custody, yet he iw with the navy, presumably having to travel arounf the world. If he got full custody who would take care of the kids while he was away?

Thank You. Never heard of a divorce strategist, will look into that one. I am panicked at this point. I just want that hearing to get here. Also, he is in the Navy

I dont think your husband will have the advantage based on filing firstt. Make sure that you have a good divorce lawyer and possibly a divorce strategist to help you. Best of Luck!
