Hi. My young child is a hyperactive downs syndrome with autism child. I am completely isolated and need to move near family within my current state of NY. My ex was abusive, non contributing, non helpful Narcissistic, and still does not send even a penny of support or offer any help. He now is categorized as mentally ill and on medications after suicide attempts. I am in process in court trying to move near family before I get too burned out. If court drags on much longer, I don't know how I can go on. I fear my ex's whining about visitation even though he has not been very responsive about offers to arrange for him to see his child with supervision will keep court dragging on forever. My ex refuses to obtain normal communication system like a cell phone or landline and only has email and computer voice mail. He never calls to inquire about how our child is doing, he only whines in court that he was not able to see his son, but this was because he attempted suicide and his ego is against supervised visitation even though it is court ordered. It seems so obvious to me that my ex is not healthy for our child and that I, the mom and ONLY care giver, needs family. Our child is also very attached to my family and in need of them as well; they are good people and role models. I have offered that my ex could relocate as well since he is not (or ever was) employed and on welfare. I have no intent to block him from seeing our child as long as our child is safe and visitation is supervised, but my child and I REALLY need to be near my family who has love for him and who has been very supportive. Is there any possibility that the court could keep me from relocating in my case?
