Pending separation and divorce in Texas: We want joint custody but the children will live primarily with me (the mother). I pay their insurance costs through my employer. However he recently lost his job and i make more money than he does. He now makes about 25,000 and i make about 50,000. Will I have to pay him child support?

Child support laws vary by state, but who pays support is generally a function of how much time the children spend with each parent and the incomes of the respective parents. While I do not know Texas law, if you were going to have 50/50 custody, you would likely pay support as a result of your higher income. The fact that you will have primary custody may lessen the likelihood of that. Child support is generally determined by a fairly rigid formula, so your best bet is to look for an on-line Texas child support calculator and see what that tells you.
