Title: child support & custody
If my ex-wife and I have joint or shared custody our our son, will I still have to pay child support?
We will be having the child at each of our homes for an equal amount of time during the week.

Thanks.
I guess since I do work full time and my ex-wife has only started a part time job recently (after being unemployed for over 4 years means that I will become her second source of income...

It depends upon the laws of your state. In some places, equally shared custody will reduce child support, but some child support is still required if there is a wide disparity in incomes between the parents. In other states, child support as a percentage of income is required to be paid by the non-custodial parent to the custodial regardless of the amount of time the children spend with each parent. You really should consult a lawyer on this very important issue.
