Title: Alimony
Need good advice.
Wife kicked me out 4 years ago. I have always paid child support and alimony that we initially agreed upon. For 3 years I have tried amicably to get separation/divorce papers signed. I have put her on easy street by paying off the house that she accepted as alimony.
After three years of setting her up and no signed papers, I left an apartment and purchased a house.
The once amicable relationship went down the tubes instantly and she filed for a divorce.
The once great income I had has been cut in half due to the economy. She is receiving a monthly amount based on what my adjusted income is. She has no debt, I am drowning in debt.
My question? Does this not matter to the court that I cannot survive or pay all my monthly bills if I have to continue paying her this set amount. I need to stress that she has no debt, does not work and kids are in high school. Divorce is not final.
Please advise.....thank you
