Cathy Belmonte Newman

Cathy Belmonte Newman (CDFA, MBA) is a financial analyst with more than 25 years of knowledge and experience. While earning her undergraduate degree in Finance at DePaul University and her MBA from the Stuart School of Business at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Cathy worked for the two largest banks in Chicago as a financial analyst. Upon graduation, Cathy joined Dean Witter’s new mortgage banking operation as a financial analyst. During her nine years with the company, her responsibilities included strategic and profit planning, buying and selling servicing rights, operations management, creating financial models and review of fair lending practices.

Cathy left corporate finance and became the Principal of F4 Financial, a niche financial firm specializing in analytical services and litigation support services to clients in the pre- or post-stages of divorce. She has been in practice for over 15 years and has served over 375 clients with monthly living expenses ranging from $2,000 per month to over $100,000 per month. As a financial analyst and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA), Cathy assists clients with lifestyle analysis, projection of future expenses, financial affidavits, balance sheet preparation and tracing of marital and non-marital assets.

Cathy was the wife’s lifestyle expert in the case, In re Marriage of Donna Tuke Heroy, which is an appellate court case in Illinois which addresses lifestyle in the opinion. In that case, the Appellate Court of Illinois affirmed the lower court’s permanent maintenance award. Her work in that case has garnered a great deal of attention and she is a sought-after expert witness in lifestyle analysis for high net worth clients.
