If you suspect your spouse is hiding assets, the first thing you need to do is tell your lawyer about your suspicions. Then if your spouse is truly hiding assets, it is likely your lawyer will recommend hiring a financial expert to assist the lawyer in discovering the assets that the spouse has hidden. As previously mentioned, discovery is the process by which your lawyer can help you go about gathering information on the state of your spouse's finances. They can send out subpoenas, requests for documents, and subpoena banks for information. There are various other means they can use and that is the best way to discover where the assets have been hidden.
