According to People Magazine, the estranged couple has been working on their relationship ever since Jillian filed for divorce in January 2015, citing “irreconcilable differences,” after 15 years of marriage.

"For the past year, Patrick and Jillian have been working on getting to where they are right now. They are not dating anyone else, and only each other," a source told People. "They seem very happy and are spending a lot of time together. They go on dates and are also involved with the kids together."

The source stated the divorce had made Patrick miserable and was a major wake-up call for him. Patrick and Jillian, both 50, have three children: a 13-year-old daughter and eight-year-old twin sons.

Rumors about their reconciliation began in November when the pair was spotted in Paris holding hands. Speculation continued when Jillian posted a picture on Instagram wishing Patrick a happy 50th birthday a week ago, writing, "Happy 5 '0'!!! @patrickdempsey 😉xxx." The night before his birthday, the two were seen spending the night together at an event with their three children.

Patrick is most known for his role as neurosurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd, otherwise known as McDreamy, in the television series Grey’s Anatomy. He has also starred in several films, including Made of Honor, Enchanted, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Jillian is a professional makeup artist who has worked with various stars, including Jennifer Lawrence, Kristen Stewart, and Kate Winslet.
