My friends have warned me that mediation doesn't work well with men. Is this true?

That's an interesting question that I've received from many people of both genders with the same concern. The reality is that I haven't perceived any bias towards any gender in divorce mediation.

The reality is that a divorce mediator worth his salt will ensure that both sides are protected and that the process is fair and balanced. To ensure that a party's rights are protected, it's a good idea to meet with a private divorce attorney prior to the mediation sessions to make sure that your decisions are informed. It's also a good idea to meet with a divorce lawyer prior to signing any agreement to make sure that your rights are protected.
