Divorce-Themed Comedy TV Show On the Way

While the vast majority of people wouldn’t put the words “divorce” and “funny” in the same sentence – let alone the same book – network executives at ABC have decided to cross comedy’s final frontier, and have ordered a pilot for Divorce: A Love Story.

The pilot and possible series is the brain child of Rules of Engagement producer Mike Sikowitz, and is based on Life Isn’t Everything, which is Israel’s most popular and longest-running sitcom.

The comedy will revolve around “Kenny” and “Robin,” whose acrimonious relationship plunges even further after they divorce.

(No, we’re not sure why that’s a premise for a comedy instead of a reality TV show that most divorcing couples can relate to, but we aren’t network executives.)
