The Law Offices of William J. Neary, a law firm based in Connecticut, has created an infographic called "The True Cost of Divorce in America". The infographic illustrates many of the costs related to divorce as well as the factors contributing to the most expensive divorces. According to their research, the average cost of divorce is between $15,000 and $30,000, filing for divorce alone can be as high as $409 in some states, and the most expensive divorce occurred in 2014 and cost $4.5 billion. The infographic is reproduced here with permission from the Law Offices of William J. Neary.
