Publisher of Divorce Magazine to say "I do"

Dan Couvrette, publisher of Divorce Magazine, will be taking the plunge for a second time on July 19 in Toronto. "When I first thought of creating a magazine to help people who were going through the process of separation and divorce, I was in the same boat as the potential readership," says Couvrette. "My 10-year marriage had just broken up, and I honestly never expected to be in a happy relationship again."

One of Couvrette's best friends, Martha Chan, changed the 42-year-old publisher's mind about love and marriage. The couple met five years ago through mutual friends, and began seeing each other romantically in February 1995. "When you're marrying a divorced man with kids, you're really marrying a whole family," says Chan, 41. She adds that Couvrette's two children, eleven-year-old Mischa and six-year-old Dylan, "have provided a great deal of happiness and satisfaction in my relationship with Dan."

"Publishing Divorce Magazine helps to keep me focussed on creating a 'new' relationship with my ex-wife, Ginette, and designing a 'new' future for my children and Martha," says Couvrette. "And yes, we do pick up tips from the magazine just like any other readers."
