"Will we meet weekly with the mediator? Who is present at the divorce mediation sessions?"

During the free initial consultation, you will identify the issues that need to be decided in the case of separation or divorce. The issues, the urgency of the decisions, and how quickly you wish to proceed determine the schedule of meeting with the mediator.

You and your spouse will both be present at the divorce-mediation session. On occasion, the mediator may wish to speak with each of you privately (and confidentially).

Brian James is an experienced  divorce and family mediator with offices throughout Chicagoland and Southeastern Wisconsin. He runs a mediation practice, C.E.L. and Associates. He can be reached at (312) 524-5829. View his Divorce Magazine profile.
