"Can I, or should I, keep the house?"

There's nothing worse than feeling that you're house-poor. So keeping the house for emotional reasons when it's not practical is not a good idea.

However, you might be able to figure out a settlement that will keep you in the house while the kids are in school, or figure out some other type of arrangement in which you can keep the house for a period of time until you're ready to sell. It's all part of working as a team -- you, your CPA, and your attorney -- to see what kind of options you do have.
