"When does child support end?"

Unless your marital settlement agreement states otherwise, child support generally ends when the child reaches age 18 or graduates from high school, whichever occurs last -- but in no event past the child’s 19th birthday. In some circumstances, such as if the child has special needs and will continue living with one parent past age 19, the child support can continue indefinitely by court order.
