"What should a prenup cover?"

A pre-nuptial agreement should cover all the issues that you want it to. The objective of a pre-nuptial agreement is to address what happens in the event of a divorce or separation or death in terms of the distribution of assets and liabilities, spousal support and attorney's fees. You can address issues such as how your property will be distributed, what, if any alimony, will be paid in the event of a divorce, and any number of similar issues.
