Appealing a divorce case can be an incredibly daunting task. An attorney since 1968, Brian G. Saylin has devoted his practice to the areas of family law and California Appellate Practice since the late '70s. Certified by the State of California as a specialist in family law, Saylin has also been elected as a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He also advises lawyers about the timing of their appeals, investigates alternatives, and considers post-judgment motions. "Timing is crucial: if you don't file in a timely manner, you will lose your right to appeal," he warns. "It's essential to meet the deadlines for your specific case."

Saylin is unique in that he combines a heavy family-law practice with a heavy appellate practice. And he doesn’t hand appellate work off to juniors or associates. "I'm a sole practitioner, so I'm the one you see," stresses Saylin. "I'm the one who works on your client's case.
